Who made the depths of the sea into a way, that the liberated might pass through?5 This is a fervent prayer which desires that the mighty acts of YHWH, which he did once in primordial times, be done again for the liberation of Israel. That particular primordial action is that he once shattered Rahab, that he once violated the dragon (תנין [tannîn]).
